  2. 2. Using forest reflectance modelling to estimate albedo for narrow-view satellites

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Nick Bergmans; [2023]
    Keywords : satellite; remote sensing; albedo; surface reflectance; vegetation; forest; machine learning; albedo estimation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Surface albedo estimations from remote sensing are invaluable for energy balance descrip- tions in climate research. The aim of this work is to evaluate the possibility of using Sentinel-2 satellite data to get the total albedo of a small, vegetated area. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improving deep monocular depth predictions using dense narrow field of view depth images

    University essay from KTH/Robotik, perception och lärande, RPL

    Author : Christoffer Möckelind; [2018]
    Keywords : Deep learning; Monocular; Depth estimation; Narrow field of view; RGB; RGBD; Noicy depth; Dense depth; Narrow depth; Sparse depth;

    Abstract : In this work we study a depth prediction problem where we provide a narrow field of view depth image and a wide field of view RGB image to a deep network tasked with predicting the depth for the entire RGB image. We show that by providing a narrow field of view depth image, we improve results for the area outside the provided depth compared to an earlier approach only utilizing a single RGB image for depth prediction. 4. 4. Performance of Amplified Head Rotation in Virtual Reality under Different Object Distances

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)

    Author : Jonna Karlsson Sellén; [2017]
    Keywords : User experience; amplified virtual head rotation; performance; distance; virtual reality;

    Abstract : VR headsets commonly used today is providing the user with a limited field of view of about 100°, which is narrow compared to human's field of view of about 200°. One way to overcome this limited field of view is to amplify the virtual head rotation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Controlling the journey from amateur to pro - Institutional work in sport organizations

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för redovisning och finansiering

    Author : Rikard Edvardsson; Michael Kestad; [2017]
    Keywords : Management Control; Sports; Professionalization; Institutional Work; Isomorphism;

    Abstract : In light of the professionalization of elite sports, the field has become divided into two parts, the amateur and the professional level, with differing conditions and logics that affect the design and use of management control systems (MCS). Taking a holistic view on how MCS develop in sport organizations that move from amateur to professional, we add to previous research on management control and sports that mainly has explored narrow topics of control.
