1. Investigating ERβ chromatin binding and its potential interaction with LRH-1 in an ovarian context
READ MORE

2. Expression of the heparan sulfate biosynthesis enzymes NDST1 and NDST2 and their major splice variants in human tissues.
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologiAbstract : The aim of the study was to investigate the expression NDST transcripts in a wide variety of tissues using RNA-sequencing experimental data from five published studies, using two common in silico tools: the Tophat-Cufflink pipeline and the HTSeq-DEXSeq pipeline. We show that to detect NDST alternative transcripts, paired-end sequencing should be used with replicates of samples or conditions together with 100 base read length to allow for reliable detection of the low expressed transcripts in the NDST family. 3. Sequence analysis and transcript length estimation of a normalized full-length porcine cDNA library
University essay from SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and GeneticsAbstract : The Pig is one of the most important sources of animal protein and an essential animal model for human biomedical research due to its anatomical, physiological, biochemical and metabolic similarities with human being. Profound understanding of the pig genome helps to understand its biology in depth. READ MORE

4. Integrin Signalling
University essay from Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologiAbstract : Integrins are receptors presented on most cells. By binding ligand they can generate signalling pathways inside the cell. Those pathways are a linkage to proteins in the cytosol. It is known that tumor cells can survive and proliferate in the absence of a solid support while normal cells need to be bound to ligand. READ MORE

5. Identifying and analysing alternative splice variants by aligning ESTs and mRNAs to the genomic sequence
University essay from Institutionen för kommunikation och informationAbstract : Questions have been raised about the genomic complexity of the human genome, since it was reported that it only consisted of 32,000 genes. Alternative splicing is considered the explanation of the enormous difference between the number of genes and the number of proteins. READ MORE
