    Abstract : Is it possible to increase traffic flows and decrease stand stills in rush hour traffic by tweaking existing traffic light signals? A vehicle’s engine running on idle is not useful in physical terms and emits unnecessary exhausts. By investigating and observing signal phase times on site in Hangzhou, China, an effort was made to find out if it was possible to get better flow and thus lower emissions by changing the traffic signal programs. 2. 2. Gribov ambiguities in non-Abelian gauge theories

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Fredrik Granström; [2021]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the quantization of field theories using the functional integral formalism. Gauge invariance necessitates a gauge-fixing procedure that chooses a unique field configuration from each gauge orbit. READ MORE

  3. 3. Framework for Within Day Rescheduling due to UnexpectedIncidents in Transportation Networks

    University essay from Programvara och system; Tekniska högskolan

    Author : Muhammad Usman; [2012]
    Keywords : Transportation; Rescheduling; utility; simulation framework;

    Abstract : In activity based modelling the concept of rescheduling is very important in order to gain dynamic scheduling of activities and to adjust the effect of unexpected incidents in individual agendas to keep them realistic and valid. This report describes a new framework to investigate algorithms for rescheduling on a large scale. READ MORE

  5. 5. A two-factor evaluation of bus delays based on GIS-T database and simulation

    University essay from Avdelningen för Industriell utveckling, IT och Samhällsbyggnad

    Author : Li Zhang; Xi Ren; [2010]
    Keywords : Geographic information system GIS ; Transportation Information System TIS ; Geographic information system for Transportation GIS-T ; Simulation; Traffic congestion index; Passengers’ waiting time; Two-factor evaluation;

    Abstract : During the urbanization process, vehicles quantity increase with expansion in population. Under this situation, bus transportation system also suffers from bus delay. Bus delay could be caused by a series of factors, for instance, overload passengers, traffic jam, traffic accident and other unpredictable situations. READ MORE
