    Abstract : The objectives of this study were: (a) to explore the coaches’ ideas about effective coaching and their perspective on athletes’ personalities as a part of it, (b) to examine how the coaches learn about athletes’ personality and how they use this knowledge in their work, and (c) to examine the coaches’ knowledge about perfectionism and what strategies they use working with perfectionistic athletes.
