  3. 3. A 3D Sub-Surface Characterisation of the Arnager Greensand, South-west Skåne

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Gregory Marcel Davies Jones; [2019]
    Keywords : Arnager Greensand; digitization; depth conversion; reservoir; storage potential;

    Abstract :  A surface characterisation of the Arnager Greensand in south Sweden, a deep saline aquifer found to be suitable for geological storage of CO2 or energy storage, was undertaken in this thesis. Vintage seismic reflection data only available as scanned tiff images of the final stacked sections were digitized and processed using modern interpretation software to provide new insights into the morphology of the Arnager Greensand and to analyse the reservoir’s potential as an energy storage unit. 4. 4. Visualizing the third dimension : map guidelines for a 3D detailed development plan

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Stephanie Elizabeth Judge; [2019]
    Keywords : physical geography and ecosystem analysis; 3D Visualization; public participation; map guidelines; detailed development plan; sustainable development; geomatics; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Public participation during urban development is key for setting a project up for success and for supporting sustainable growth, but current detailed development plans available in paper-based 2D format are difficult for the public to understand. The literature has shown that the introduction of 3D visualizations can improve citizens’ understanding of a plan proposal; however, moving from static 2D to digital 3D space requires effective visualization tailored to this specific application. 5. 5. Efficient 2D SLAM for a Mobile Robot with a Downwards Facing Camera

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Christian Colliander; [2018]
    Keywords : SLAM; 2D SLAM; Visual SLAM; Quadcopter; Drone; Camera; Downwards facing camera; Computer Vision; Image Analysis; ROS; Robotics; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : As digital cameras become cheaper and better, computers more powerful, and robots more abundant the merging of these three techniques also becomes more common and capable. The combination of these techniques is often inspired by the human visual system and often strives to give machines the same capabilities that humans already have, such as object identification, navigation, limb coordination, and event detection.
