  1. 21. The potential for large-scale implementation of biochar in the agricultural sector : a quantitative study on plant growth in light soils and a qualitative study on the agricultural sector’s perception on biochar

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Author : Mathilda Håkansson; Louise Strömberg; [2022]
    Keywords : Transdisciplinary study; Agricultural science; Biochar; Plant growth; Soil properties; Biochar implementation; Perceptions on biochar;

    Abstract : Agricultural activities are collectively one of the largest contributors to accumulation of greenhouse gasses (GHG). At the same time, agriculture is at a risk to be affected extensively by climate change. Concurrently, in conventional agriculture GHG emissions have become inevitable to maintain efficiency. 2. 22. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Jiawen Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : particle size; comparison; Malvern analysis; Qicpic analysis; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 3. 23. Evaluating trace link visualizations

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Fredrik Johansson; Themistoklis Ntoukolis; [2021-03-03]
    Keywords : Traceability; Eclipse Capra; traceability visualizations; computer science; engineering; project; thesis; requirements; change impact analysis; matrix; sunburst;

    Abstract : Traceability has become a very important part of the software development lifecycle and therefor a lot of research has been done and is being done about it. Our aim with this paper is to explore and evaluate the effect that different traceability visualizations have on the workload and find the most optimal visualizations that users will benefit more by using in their projects. Abstract : Biological pharmaceuticals are the answer to many severe diseases of today’s society. Some of these are protein-based drugs and can be produced from human blood plasma. In order to guarantee the safety of patients, absence of any pathogens needs to be ensured. READ MORE

  5. 25. The Energy Savings Potential of a Heat Recovery Unit and Demand Controlled Ventilation in an Office Building

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Martin Fagernäs; [2021]
    Keywords : Demand Controlled Ventilation; DCV; Heat Recovery Unit;

    Abstract : The building sector is responsible for approximately 40 % of the total energy usage in Sweden. In office buildings the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system can account for up to 55 % of the energy usage. In order to reduce the energy usage of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system different control methods are often used. READ MORE
