  1. 1. Smart Tracking for Edge-assisted Object Detection : Deep Reinforcement Learning for Multi-objective Optimization of Tracking-based Detection Process

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Shihang Zhou; [2023]
    Keywords : Tracking-By-Detection; Deep Reinforcement Learning; Multi-Objective Optimization; Spårning genom detektion; Djup förstärkningsinlärning; Multiobjektiv optimering;

    Abstract : Detecting generic objects is one important sensing task for applications that need to understand the environment, for example eXtended Reality (XR), drone navigation etc. However, Object Detection algorithms are particularly computationally heavy for real-time video analysis on resource-constrained mobile devices. 2. 2. Continuous Hydrothermal Co-liquefaction of Biomass : An experimental study on the effects of fuel mixing on the composition and yield of biocrude and hydrochar

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Simon Fridolfsson; [2022]
    Keywords : HTL; TGA; SEM EDS; Co-liquefaction effects; GROT; Kraft lignin; Microalgae;

    Abstract : An experimental study on the effect of fuel mixing on the products resulting from hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) was conducted. The feedstocks used were kraft lignin (KL), GROT (GT) and microalgae cultivated in wastewater (MA). Three sets of mixtures were prepared, each containing two types of feedstocks with a 1:1 ratio: KLGT, MAKL, and MAGT. READ MORE

  3. 3. Integrating horticultural and arable crops : a sustainable way to increase vegetable production in Scania?

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Author : Stina Helena Mortensen; [2022]
    Keywords : Horticulture; agriculture; vegetables; crop rotation; crop sequence; diversification; integration; ecosystem services; farmers’ attitudes;

    Abstract : Modern arable production is associated with a highly homogenous landscape with few cultivated species and is relying heavily on external chemical inputs. Intensive vegetable production, on the other hand, is associated with environmental costs such as increased risk of nutrient leaching and loss of soil organic matter. READ MORE

  4. 4. Sputtered Transparent Contact Layers for Bifacial and Tandem Solar Cells

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Solcellsteknik

    Author : Klara Kiselman; [2022]
    Keywords : Solar cells; ITO; indium doped tin oxide; bifacial cell; tandem cell; transparent conductive oxides;

    Abstract : A key to solar cells with lower environmental impact is higher efficiency and reduced material usages. Bifacial solar cells may have a higher efficiency as light can enter from two directions and tandem solar cells may use a larger part of the incoming solar spectrum, increasing the efficiency. 5. 5. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Jiawen Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : particle size; comparison; Malvern analysis; Qicpic analysis; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages.
