  1. 6. Monocular Depth Prediction in Deep Neural Networks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Guanqian Tang; [2019]
    Keywords : Convolutional neural networks; monocular depth prediction; ResNet; DenseNet; ; Konvolutional neurala nätverk; monokulär djupförutsägelse; ResNet; DenseNet; ;

    Abstract : With the development of artificial neural network (ANN), it has been introduced in more and more computer vision tasks. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are widely used in object detection, object tracking, and semantic segmentation, achieving great performance improvement than traditional algorithms. READ MORE

  2. 7. Improving deep monocular depth predictions using dense narrow field of view depth images

    University essay from KTH/Robotik, perception och lärande, RPL

    Author : Christoffer Möckelind; [2018]
    Keywords : Deep learning; Monocular; Depth estimation; Narrow field of view; RGB; RGBD; Noicy depth; Dense depth; Narrow depth; Sparse depth;

    Abstract : In this work we study a depth prediction problem where we provide a narrow field of view depth image and a wide field of view RGB image to a deep network tasked with predicting the depth for the entire RGB image. We show that by providing a narrow field of view depth image, we improve results for the area outside the provided depth compared to an earlier approach only utilizing a single RGB image for depth prediction. 3. 8. Depth prediction by deep learning

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Valentin Figué; [2018]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Knowing the depth information is of critical importance in scene understanding for several industrial projects such as self-driving cars for instance. Where depth inference from a single still image has taken a prominent place in recent studies with the outcome of deep learning methods, practical cases often offer useful additional information that should be considered early in the architecture of the design to benefit from them in order to improve quality and robustness of the estimates. 4. 9. Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for Real-Time Single Frame Monocular Depth Estimation

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för systemteknik

    Author : Jacob Schennings; [2017]
    Keywords : deep learning; machine learning; mono vision system; lightweight; CNN; convolutional neural network; depth estimation; lidar; kitti; vehicle camera; mono camera; camera; real-time; real time; ad; autonomous driving; adas; advanced driver assistance systems; mono depth; computer vision; regression; pixel-wise; pixel wise; object detection; general object detection; pedestrian detection; vehicle detection; supervised learning; supervised; tensorflow; python; keras; opencv; autoliv;

    Abstract : Vision based active safety systems have become more frequently occurring in modern vehicles to estimate depth of the objects ahead and for autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). In this thesis a lightweight deep convolutional neural network performing real-time depth estimation on single monocular images is implemented and evaluated. READ MORE

  5. 10. Scene Representation, Registration and ObjectDetection in a Truncated Signed Distance FunctionRepresentation of 3D Space

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : DANIEL RICAO CANELHAS; [2012]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a study of the signed distance function as a three-dimensional implicit surface representation and provides a detailed overview of its different properties. A method for generating such a representation using the depth-image output from a Kinect camera is reviewed in detail. READ MORE
