  1. 6. Predictive Regression Model Evaluation : Evaluating Predictive Machine Learning Models to Reduce Food Waste in the Dairy Industry

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Alexander Carlsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Machine learning; Food loss; Food overproduction; Food waste forecast; Food waste prediction; Maskininlärning; Matsvinn; Svinn; Matsvinnsprognos;

    Abstract : Food waste in the food industry is often a result from the complex nature of food production. Uncertainty is always present as yields vary and as there is a chain of consumer demand from stores to producers. Food waste is a waste of both natural and economic resources affecting both the planet and the producer. READ MORE

  2. 7. Råmjölkens användningsmöjligheter och egenskaper : the uses and properties of colostrum

    University essay from SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Author : Signe Magnussen; [2022]
    Keywords : råmjölk; näringsämnen; bearbetning; livsmedel;

    Abstract : Råmjölken är den första mjölken som däggdjur producerar efter födsel. Råmjölken är rik på makro- och mikronäringsämnen, immunmodulatorer och tillväxtfaktorer. Råmjölken produceras ungefär de tre första dagarna efter födseln. Kon producerar mer råmjölk än vad kalven behöver. READ MORE

  3. 8. Effect of the Cooling Rate and the Surface Film Composition on the Colloidal Stability of Whey Protein Based Emulsions of Triacylglycerols

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Charlotte Schüler; [2022]
    Keywords : Emulsion technology; Fat crystallization; Emulsified triglycerides; Colloid science; Food technology; Agriculture and Food Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The goal of this project was to investigate the effect and interplay of formulation and processing parameters on the colloidal stability of emulsified triacylglycerols from a product quality perspective. Different methods to quantify and monitor this effect over time were evaluated. READ MORE

  4. 9. Understanding the correlation between molecular structure of chilled dairy creams and the risk of environmental stress cracking in Tetra Pak® carton packages

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Alejandra Fernandez Castaneda; [2022]
    Keywords : Cream; microestructure; environmental stress cracking; food technology and nutrition; Agriculture and Food Sciences;

    Abstract : Multilayer food packaging are lined with an inner layer of plastic and has excellent barrier properties. However, plastics lose their mechanical properties after being exposed to certain conditions; the combination of factors generates failures in the material such as the appearance of cracks, this phenomenon is known as environmental stress cracking (ESC). 5. 10. E-noses equipped with Artificial Intelligence Technology for diagnosis of dairy cattle disease in veterinary

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Farbod Haselzadeh; [2021]
    Keywords : Artificial intelligence; Electronic nose; Gas sensor arrays; Principal component analysis; Autoencoder; Veterinary diagnose; Feature extraction; Dimentionality reduction; Normalization; Maskin intelligence; Artificial intelligence; Elektronisk näsa; Gas sensore array; Normalisering; dimensionalitetsminskning; Autoencoder; Klassificering AI; E-nose; Feature Extraction; Normalization; PCA; Autoencoder; Encoder; Decoder; MLP; Classifier; LDA; Support Vector Machine; Logistic Regression; Cross Validation; Signal segmentation;

    Abstract : The main goal of this project, running at Neurofy AB, was that developing an AI recognition algorithm also known as, gas sensing algorithm or simply recognition algorithm, based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which would have the ability to detect or predict diary cattle diseases using odor signal data gathered, measured and provided by Gas Sensor Array (GSA) also known as, Electronic Nose or simply E-nose developed by the company. Two major challenges in this project were to first overcome the noises and errors in the odor signal data, as the E-nose is supposed to be used in an environment with difference conditions than laboratory, for instance, in a bail (A stall for milking cows) with varying humidity and temperatures, and second to find a proper feature extraction method appropriate for GSA.
