  1. 16. Development and Use of System Modeler 6DOF Flight Mechanics Model in Aircraft Conceptual Design

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska system

    Author : Niko Erä-Esko; [2022]
    Keywords : Aircraft Conceptual Design; Flight Mechanics; Modelling and Simulation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a tool for conceptual design of a traditional configuration aircraft by using a parametric six degrees of freedom (6DOF) flight mechanics model implemented in the Modelica Language using Wolfram System Modeler. Being first only able to model and simulate the uncontrolled flight of an aircraft with fixed mass and centre of gravity (CG), and requiring detailed aerodynamic parameters as an input, the 6DOF model is improved by developing new features to reduce the number of required inputs while also increasing the data output of the simulations. 2. 17. ATLAS DATABASES OF HUMAN BRAIN ANATOMY: QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPARISON

    University essay from

    Author : Amanda Philipsson Franzén; [2021-01-11]
    Keywords : Medical physics; Brain atlas concordance problem; Quantitative comparison; Qualitative comparison; Hammersmith; 2012 MICCAI Multi-Atlas Labelling Challenge Data;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study was to quantitatively and qualitatively compare the two brain atlases databases, Hammersmith and 2012 MICCAI Multi-Atlas Labelling Challenge data, by developing a quantitative method. Theory Anatomical atlases of the human brain provide reference information about its structure. READ MORE

  3. 18. A mixed clinicopathological and molecular proxy of homologous recombination deficiency in triple negative breast cancer

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i bioinformatik

    Author : Elise Walford; [2021]
    Keywords : Biology and Life Sciences;

    Abstract : Clinical models are increasingly employed in medical science as either diagnostic or prognostic aids. Machine-learning methods are able to draw links in large data that can be used to predict patient risk and allow more informed decisions regarding treatment and medication intervention. READ MORE

  4. 19. Topographic controls of drought impact on Swedish primary forests

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Johanna Asch; [2021]
    Keywords : Physical geography; ecosystem analysis; primary forest; boreal forest; drought impact; topography; drainage; climate change; random forest; terrain index; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Anthropogenic climate change has increased the frequency of extreme drought events and leads to “hotter” droughts. Topography controls plant available water and site-specific climatic conditions. Drought sensitivity may therefore vary over short distances between wet and dry locations of the landscape. READ MORE

  5. 20. Increasing Retention in Insurtechs Through Churn Prediction

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Innovationsteknik

    Author : John Rapp Farnes; Oskar Christiansen; [2021]
    Keywords : Non-life insurance; Property and casualty insurance; Customer retention; Churn prediction; Predictive analytics; Classification; Machine learning; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Over the last decades, the Swedish insurance industry has seen decreased entry barriers due to deregulation and emerging new technologies, which have the potential to disturb the stagnated and consolidated competitive landscape of the industry. Initiated by newcomers like American insurance startup Lemonade, and later Swedish Hedvig among others, there is an increased push toward digitalization, transparency, and automation in the industry.
