  1. 1. Linear Impact of Bicycle Helmet – Experimental Testing and FE-modelling

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Ludvig Dahlin; Ebba Larsson Regnström; [2022]
    Keywords : FEM; Finite element method; bicycle helmet; impact modelling; solid mechanics; FEM; Finita element-metoden; cykelhjälm; islagsmodellering; hållfasthetslära;

    Abstract : The aim with this master thesis was to set up a FE-simulation of an impact test of a bike helmet in LS-DYNA that correlates well with the peak acceleration score of a real life impact test. Furthermore, a parametric study has been performed in LS DYNA to investigate the robustness of the model, as well as to see which parameters have a great influence on the peak acceleration score. 2. 2. Understanding particulate matter - Material analyses of real-life diesel particulate filters and correlation to vehicles’ operational data

    University essay from KTH/Kemiteknik

    Author : Linus Nordin; [2021]
    Keywords : Diesel particulate filter; Ash measurement method development; Correlation study; Operational parameters; Principal component analysis; Dieselpartikelfilter; Askanalys metodutveckling; Korrelationsstudie; Driftsparametrar; Principal component analysis;

    Abstract : Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka effekterna av driftsparametrar på ett antal mätbara askrelaterade parametrar i dieselpartikelfilter (DPF) i tunga fordon. Tidigare studier visar att askans packningsdensitet, askflöde och hur askan fördelas inuti ett DPF är beroende av parametrar som temperatur, avgasflöde och oljeförbrukning ett fordon har. READ MORE

  3. 3. Energy harvesting from ambient WiFi energy : A method of harvesting and measuring ambient WiFi energy

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Alpha Fofana; Carl Mossberg; [2019]
    Keywords : Energy harvesting; Rectenna; Impedance matching; Embedded system; IoT; WiFi; Sustainable Energy; Utvinna energi; Impedansmatchning; Inbyggda system; IoT; WiFi; Hållbar utveckling;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the question of how to harvest RF energy and if we can harvest enough RF energy for it to be useful in an application. It is aimed towards sensor node applications, commonly used in a typical office environment. The WiFi band was chosen since it is omnipresent in the same environment. READ MORE

  4. 4. PCA based dimensionality reduction of MRI images for training support vector machine to aid diagnosis of bipolar disorder

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Beichen Chen; Amy Jinxin Chen; [2019]

    Abstract : This study aims to investigate how dimensionality reduction of neuroimaging data prior to training support vector machines (SVMs) affects the classification accuracy of bipolar disorder. This study uses principal component analysis (PCA) for dimensionality reduction. READ MORE

  5. 5. Enzyme-aided production of lipid emulsifiers from side-streams of the food industry: rapeseed press cake and oat oil

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)

    Author : Renske Bouma; [2017]
    Keywords : Lipid emulsifiers; enzymes; side-streams food industry; rapeseed press cake; oat oil; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The goal of this thesis project was to utilize side-streams of the food industry, namely rapeseed cake and oat oil, by enzyme-aided production of lipid emulsifiers. The first objective was to extract lipids from the rapeseed press cake and increase protein yield, by adding an enzymatic step to the already existing protein extraction procedure developed by the food department of Lund University.
