  1. 1. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Colin Potter; [2023]
    Keywords : Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 2. 2. Application development of 3D LiDAR sensor for display computers

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Signaler och system

    Author : Oskar Ekstrand; [2023]
    Keywords : LiDAR; 3D sensor; display computer; application; high-resolution 3D map; visualize real time data; CPU load; Voxel grid filter; Point Cloud Library; Qt QML; C ; Linux; LiDAR; 3D sensor; fordons dator; applikation; högupplöst 3D-karta; visualisera realtidsdata; processorlast; Voxel grid filter; Point Cloud Library; Qt QML; C ; Linux;

    Abstract : A highly accurate sensor for measuring distances, used for creating high-resolution 3D maps of the environment, utilize “Light Detection And Ranging” (LiDAR) technology. This degree project aims to investigate the implementation of 3D LiDAR sensors into off-highway vehicle display computers, called CCpilots. READ MORE

  3. 3. Arbitrary motion Synthetic Aperture Radar

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Filip Alberius; Erik Rolander; [2023]
    Keywords : RADAR; SAR; Synthetic Aperture Radar; Pulsed Coherent Radar; PCR; VR; Virtual Reality; IMU; Inertial Measurment Unit; VAA; Virtual Antenna Array; Obstacle detection; Signal Processing; Matched Filter Method.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Syftet med denna avhandling är att utveckla en ny metod för att producera bilder med syntetisk aperturradar (SAR), med utgångspunkt i scenarier med arbiträr rörelse vad gäller radarsensorn. SAR är en väletablerad metod för att skapa 2- eller 3-dimensionella radarbilder, som traditionellt sett antar att radar-sensorns rörelse är linjär och förutsägbar. READ MORE

  4. 4. 3D Reconstruction from Satellite Imagery Using Deep Learning

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Datorseende

    Author : Tim Yngesjö; [2021]
    Keywords : 3D reconstruction; Deep learning;

    Abstract : Learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) has shown promising results in the domain of general 3D reconstruction. However, no work before this thesis has applied learning-based MVS to urban 3D reconstruction from satellite images. In this thesis, learning-based MVS is used to infer depth maps from satellite images. READ MORE

  5. 5. Investigation of recovery of stellar magnetic field geometries from simulated spectropolarimetric data

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Ahmed Al Kanale; [2017]
    Keywords : Magnetic Doppler Imaging MDI code INVERS10;

    Abstract : Powerful remote sensing techniques can covert time variability of polarization profiles of stellar spectral lines into vector magnetic fields maps of stellar surfaces. These techniques are widely applied to interpret observations but have been tested using only simplistic tests. READ MORE
