  1. 1. Telling a different story: Farming resilience in hay-milk farms in Salzburg province

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Stockholm Resilience Centre

    Author : Julia Fritzsche; [2023]
    Keywords : farming resilience; Salzburg; hay-milk farming;

    Abstract : Foregrounding relations and processes in resilience thinking has the potential to enable more holistic analyses and account for complexity, which could lead to more resilient actions, interventions, or ways of being. The concept of farming resilience builds on a process-relational understanding of resilience and thus offers a move away from more substance-based understandings of resilience as outcome. READ MORE

  2. 2. Non-perturbative models of diffractive hadronic collisions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Edgars Karnickis; [2022]
    Keywords : diffractive process; proton-proton collision; elastic; parton; PDF; saturation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, a new model for diffractive proton-proton collisions is presented. Interpreting protons as systems of many partons, we treat diffraction in terms of elastic interactions between the partons of the colliding protons. READ MORE

  3. 3. RISK, RESPECT & UNSPEAKABLE ACTS : Untangling Intimate-Sexual Consent through 'Intuitive Inquiry' & 'Agential Realism'

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Centrum för genusforskning (from 2013)

    Abstract : In an attempt to address the issues in research and theory on consent, this thesis explores what consent can be seen as "doing" through an 'Intuitive Inquiry' (Anderson 2011a) and 'Agential Realism' (Barad 2007). Various manifestations of consent appears through: the experience of the researcher, consent research and theory, consent legislation, interviews with professionals in intimate-sexual consent, and, feminist fanzines. 4. 4. Pulsed Laser Beam Quality Assessment via Phase Retrieval

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik

    Author : Mattias Ammitzböll; [2021]
    Keywords : GSA; phase retrieval; Gerchberg-Saxton; femtosecond; pulsed; laser; beam quality; attosecond; interferometry; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In the search for a better understanding of the fundamental nature of the atom, the development of femtosecond pulsed laser sources has opened up for many applications, in particular in time-resolved physics. For many of those, like the generation of attosecond pulses through high-order harmonic generation, high intensity is needed and the quality of the beam is a critical factor. READ MORE

  5. 5. A Methodology In The Becoming: Examining The Possibilities Of Diffractive Watching Through A Feminist New Materialist Lens

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Centrum för genusforskning (from 2013)

    Author : Anna Militsi; [2021]
    Keywords : diffraction; diffractive watching; film analysis; feminist new materialism;

    Abstract : In this Thesis, influenced by Geert’s and van der Tuin’s (2016) diffractive reading of Beauvoir and Irigaray, I propose the methodology of  diffractive watching and watching diffractively as another tool for film analysis while engaging in an exploration of the potentials and limitations presented in the process. I find the concept of diffraction to be of significant merit within feminist new materialist research and to that end, I am interested in assessing the concept’s versatility and in verifying its methodological value.
